Mr. Justice Grewal retired as a Judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court on 9th March 2026 after a distinguished career spanning more than three decades at the Bar and on the Bench.

An alumnus of St. Stephen’s College, Delhi, and the Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, Justice Grewal commenced legal practice in 1992 before the Punjab and Haryana High Court. During his illustrious career at the Bar, he served the State of Punjab in various capacities, including 9 years as Addl. Advocate General. He was also Senior Panel Counsel for the Government of India.

He was elevated as a Judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court in September 2014 and subsequently served both the Rajasthan High Court and the Punjab and Haryana High Court. During his judicial tenure, he dealt with a wide range of matters involving constitutional law, civil and criminal jurisprudence, public interest litigation and issues of governance and institutional accountability. He also discharged several important administrative responsibilities, including serving as Chairman of the Vigilance and Disciplinary Committee of the Punjab and Haryana High Court and other Committees of the High Court.

Over the years, Justice Grewal has distinguished himself through his wide-ranging judicial experience, balanced approach and unwavering dedication to the administration of justice. He presently serves as the President of the National Company Law Tribunal, bringing to the institution his rich judicial experience and deep commitment to public service.
