Shri. Ashish Kalia joined as Member (Judicial), National Company Law Tribunal, on 20.01.2025. He holds the degrees of B.Com., LL.B., D.C.L. and D.M.M. Before his appointment, he practised extensively in all branches of law for more than 25 years before the Central Administrative Tribunal, Principal Bench, Debts Recovery Tribunal (DRT), Debts Recovery Appellate Tribunal (DRAT), Board for Industrial and Financial Reconstruction (BIFR), Appellate Authority for Industrial and Financial Reconstruction (AAIFR), Delhi High Court, Company Court and the Supreme Court of India. He was appointed as Presiding Officer, DRT-III, New Delhi, in 2011. In 2016, he was given the additional charge of Chairman, Board for Industrial and Financial Reconstruction. He was appointed as Member (Judicial), Central Administrative Tribunal, Ernakulam Bench, on 16.07.2018 and joined the National Company Law Tribunal as Member (Judicial) on 20.01.2025. He also served as Standing Counsel for the Bank of Maharashtra before the Delhi High Court and as Joint Secretary of the CAT Principal Bench Bar Association for two consecutive terms. He was Counsel for the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, Panel Counsel for IREDA under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India, Permanent Retainer for Rajasthan State Mines and Minerals Ltd., a State Government Enterprise, from 1999 to 2011, and Panel Counsel for various banks and financial institutions.
