Born on 02.05.1963 in the village of Shadipur (Ladwa), District Kurukshetra, Haryana, Shri Labh Singh graduated with Economics from Dayal Singh College, Karnal, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, in 1986 and obtained his LL.B. degree from Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, in 1989. He joined the legal profession and commenced practice as an Advocate at the District Courts, Kurukshetra, Haryana, on 05.09.1989. He served as Special Public Prosecutor, Central Bureau of Investigation, Chandigarh, from 09.09.2010 to 26.11.2012. He was selected and appointed as Presiding Officer, Debts Recovery Tribunal-II, Ahmedabad, and assumed charge on 04.02.2014, serving till the completion of his tenure on 04.02.2019. He was again selected and appointed as Presiding Officer, Debts Recovery Tribunal-I, Ernakulam, for a second tenure and assumed charge on 15.06.2020. Consequent upon his selection and appointment as Member (Judicial), Railway Claims Tribunal, he resigned from the post to join the new assignment on 22.09.2021. He served as Member (Judicial), Railway Claims Tribunal, from 27.09.2021 to 11.02.2025. He was nominated as a Member of the Committee headed by Justice (Retd.) Tarun Kumar Kaushal, Hon'ble Chairman, DRAT, Chennai, constituted by the Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance, Government of India, to submit a report for framing Rules for the speedy disposal of DRT cases involving amounts of Rs. 100 crores or more. He was selected and appointed as Member (Judicial), National Company Law Tribunal, and joined on 12.02.2025. He is presently serving as Member (Judicial), National Company Law Tribunal, Kolkata Bench.
