The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), Kochi Bench was established as a designated regional Bench pursuant to the Gazette Notification dated 27.07.2018 issued by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. The Bench was formally inaugurated on 03.08.2019 by Hon’ble Shri Justice Hrishikesh Roy, then Chief Justice of the High Court of Kerala, in the august presence of Hon’ble Shri Justice M.M. Kumar, then President, NCLT and former Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir.

Located in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs building at Thrikkakara, a well-connected suburb of Kochi, Kerala, the Kochi Bench functions as a single-Court designated Bench. It exercises jurisdiction over the State of Kerala and the Union Territory of Lakshadweep, serving as an important forum for the adjudication of corporate and insolvency matters within its territorial jurisdiction.
