Born on 07.04.1970, Shri Sushil Mahadeorao Kochey completed his schooling at Bishop Cotton School, Nagpur, the five-year LL.B. course from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar College of Law, Nagpur, and LL.M. from Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur. He commenced his legal practice by joining the chamber of Senior Advocate Shri J. T. Gilda. Thereafter, he joined the chamber of Senior Advocate Shri K. H. Deshpande and practised before the Nagpur Bench of the Bombay High Court, the District Court and various other courts till 1999. He joined the Judicial Service in October 1999. He served as Registrar (Original Side) of the Bombay High Court, Mumbai, and was a serving District Judge. He was appointed as Member (Judicial), National Company Law Tribunal, on 20.01.2025 and was posted as Member (Judicial), NCLT Mumbai Bench, with effect from 03.03.2025.
