A Science Graduate from Hansraj College, Delhi, Shri Sunil Kumar Aggarwal completed his LL.B. from the Campus Law Centre, New Delhi, in 1986 and joined the office of leading civil lawyer Shri Pratap Singh Kuchchal, Advocate. He worked in the Law Department of DCM Limited from 1988 to 1992, dealing with labour, rent, ESI, PF and related criminal matters. He joined the Delhi Judicial Service on 02.11.1992 and served as Civil Judge, Metropolitan Magistrate and Rent Controller. During this period, he completed his LL.M. from Kurukshetra University in the year 2000. On his promotion to the Delhi Higher Judicial Service in December 2005, he served as Additional District and Sessions Judge, Special Judge (NDPS Act) and Special Judge (PMLA). Being a Mediator and Trainer in the concepts and techniques of mediation, he was appointed as the Judge-in-Charge of the Delhi Mediation Centre for four years. He helped parties resolve about 6,500 cases with a success rate of about 69%. As a Resource Person, he imparted mediation training to 400 Judicial Officers and Advocates. He was the Chairperson/Member of various Administrative Committees and, for a long period, headed the Finance and Accounts portfolio of the Delhi District Courts. He was posted as Principal Judge, Family Court, and superannuated on 30.09.2023. He worked as Chairperson, Municipal Taxation Tribunal, Delhi, for a very short duration. He joined the National Company Law Tribunal on 20.01.2025 and is posted as Member (Judicial) at the Bengaluru Bench.
