Demitting Ceremony of Hon'ble Chief Justice (Retd.) R. Sudhakar, Former President, National Company Law Tribunal

A demitting ceremony was held on 13 February 2026 to bid a warm farewell to Hon'ble Chief Justice (Retd.) R. Sudhakar on the successful completion of his tenure as the President of the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT). Having assumed office on 1 November 2021, Hon'ble Chief Justice (Retd.) R. Sudhakar led the institution with distinction for more than four years, making significant contributions to its growth and functioning.

The ceremony was attended by Hon'ble Members of the Tribunal, officers and officials of the Registry, members of the Bar, and other distinguished guests, who assembled to express their gratitude and appreciation for his exemplary leadership, vision, and dedicated service to the institution. A Full Court was also convened to commemorate the occasion and pay tribute to his outstanding tenure as President of the NCLT.

In his farewell address, Hon'ble Chief Justice (Retd.) R. Sudhakar expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Hon'ble Members, officers, officials, members of the Bar, and all stakeholders for their unwavering support and cooperation throughout his tenure. Reflecting on the Tribunal's collective achievements, he underscored the importance of upholding the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and dedication in the administration of justice. He further highlighted that during the past four years, the Tribunal registered nearly 54,800 cases and successfully disposed of more than 48,000, achieving an impressive disposal rate of over 85 percent.

The ceremony concluded with the presentation of a memento and a vote of thanks, marking the occasion with heartfelt appreciation and conveying best wishes to Hon'ble Chief Justice (Retd.) R. Sudhakar for his good health, happiness, and continued success in his future endeavours. His invaluable contributions to the National Company Law Tribunal have left an enduring legacy and will continue to inspire the institution while being remembered with profound respect and admiration.
